Consultations: Can be done in person or on the phone. A mandatory in-person consultation is required for behavioral cases. These consultations are designed for troubleshooting the problems you are experiencing with your dog. At Sit Happens K9 Academy, we discuss training options and develop a plan to get you on the right path!

One-on-one sessions: Conducted in the comfort of your own home, these sessions allow me to help you focus on the main issues. Private sessions can also take place in a public setting to put that training to the test! 

Day Training: This specialized training is available for specific cases, depending on the dog's individual needs and the owner's overall goals and time frame. 

Off-Leash Training: This short three-session class is for owners who wish to have their dogs live a happy life off leash. I show you how to properly condition your dog to a high-quality E-collar in a fun and fair way.

 Livestock Aversion Training: For those with farm animals, getting your dog to coexist harmoniously with them can be a challenge. In just a few sessions, you will be able to have your dog live peacefully among them. 

Custom: Since every situation is unique, no package is set in stone and can be adjusted at any time to fit the needs of your dog.

My name is Julie, and for as long as I can remember, I have always loved animals of all kinds, especially dogs. I started my first dog walking service at the age of 12, which began a lifelong journey into the world of animals. Since I was 18, I have worked in and out of shelters and am heavily involved in the rescue community. I encountered a few very difficult foster dogs that were deemed unadoptable, but I successfully either got them adopted or kept them as my personal dogs. Over time, people began coming to me with behavioral issues with their own dogs because they saw what I could do with these dogs. It wasn't until 2022, when I pulled Peanut out of a shelter, that I decided to make a career out of it. I was tired of seeing the same dogs come into the shelter repeatedly due to minor issues. My entire goal is to ensure that 'sit happens' without leading dogs into the revolving door of the shelter system. Through my efforts at Sit Happens K9 Academy, I strive to make sit happen for every dog I work with, helping to prevent them from falling into the same cycle that so many dogs face. This is where sit happens, and together, we can create a brighter future for our furry friends.

At Sit Happens K9 Academy, we focus on helping shelter and rescue dogs through various training programs, including puppy training and crate training. We address issues like separation anxiety, resource guarding, and dog aggression, as well as human aggression. Our courses cover basic obedience and advanced obedience, ensuring your dog learns to make sit happen. We also specialize in off-leash training for multi-dog households and help with livestock or farm animal aversion.
